Top-seeded Bryant & Stratton holds off Moraine Valley

(Sugar Grove, IL.) –  Top-seeded Bryant & Stratton College from Milwaukee held off fourth-seeded Moraine Valley Community College down the stretch to win their Region IV Division II District L Semi-Final game 86-77. An offensive rebound and three-point play by the Bobcats' Ashley Williams with 1:18 to go put her team up by seven points. A long three-pointer from the corner moments later by Ashley Quezaire clinched it for Bryant & Stratton.

The Bobcats were led by Kiara Donaldson with 21 points and five rebounds. Quezaire booked 20 points, grabbed eight boards and dished out four assists. Williams posted a double-double with 16 points and 22 rebounds, to go along with five assists and three steals. Ashley Hunter paced the Cyclones, who finish the season with a 21-11 record overall, with 25 points and six boards. Creighton Fed added 15 points and six assists, Elizabeth Coffey contributed a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds, while Kristen McGee chipped in with 14 points.

Bryant & Stratton, in just their second year of competition, will play for the Region IV Division II District L Championship next Saturday, March 10 at noon in Waubonsee's Erickson Hall Gymnasium. The Bobcats (23-9) will play the winner between second-seeded South Suburban College and third-seeded McHenry County College.
