Waubonsee Community College's Garrett Goetz was named the NJCAA Division III Player of the Week for the week of March 12 through 19. The freshman from Oswego East High School batted a sizzling .625 over seven games, going 15 for 24 at the plate. The Chiefs' shortstop knocked in at least one run in every game, tallying 15 runs batted in during the week to help lead the Chiefs to a 6-1 record. Goetz ripped six doubles, a triple and his first collegiate home run, while scoring 11 times and also swiping seven bases in eight attempts. On the season he is batting .475 with a .523 on-base percentage and an .800 slugging percentage.
