Chiefs’ Erastus-Obilo signs with St. Francis

(Joliet, lL.)  – Waubonsee Community College men's soccer standout Reuel Erastus-Obilo has signed on to continue his collegiate career at the University of St. Francis. The 6'2" 205-pound striker will join a Fighting Saints program that went 10-7-2 overall last season and reached the semi-finals of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament.  

In 2017 Erastus-Obilo helped lead Waubonsee to a second straight Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) title on his way to being named the conference's Player of the Year. The Waubonsie Valley High School graduate led the Chiefs with 23 goals scored, tying him for ninth most nationally. Erastus-Obilo was also chosen to the All-Region Champions Division Team on the way to helping the Chiefs win their second straight Region IV title. Born in Nigeria and raised in Great Britain, Erastus-Obilo also recorded a dozen assists and his 58 points tied him for ninth among all NJCAA Division I players. Additionally, the Computer Science major was named the NJCAA Division I National Player of the Week for the third week of September. In his two years the with program, the Chiefs went 36-7-2 overall  

"Reuel is a strong, powerful, energetic forward with good technique and lots of soccer experience," states third-year St. Francis head coach Dan Cross. "He is an intelligent forward who can score and also get others involved offensively. Reuel will add to our already impressive forward line that features many talented players."
