Heiman Region POTW Again

Waubonsee Community College's Brooke Heiman was named the Region IV Division II District 'A' Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season. The sophomore was chosen the region's top player for the week of January 22 through 29 after scoring 64 points and grabbing 31 rebounds over the Chiefs' three games last week. The 5'9" guard averaged 21.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game, slightly above her season averages of 19.9 points and 8.8 boards per contest. In Waubonsee's loss to top-ranked Morton College on Jan. 24, Heiman tallied 18 points, snagged nine rebounds and handed out two assists. Two days later she booked 26 points, hauled down 13 boards and dished out four assists in the Chiefs' 92-61 victory over Elgin. The Indian Creek High School graduate finished the week with a 20-point and nine rebound performance on Jan. 28 in a loss to Kankakee. Heiman was previously tabbed the Region IV Player of the Week in early November when she poured in 65 points and corralled 21 boards in a pair of Waubonsee wins over DuPage and Illinois Valley.
