Lizzy Bristow returns for her fifth season as Waubonsee’s assistant coach after helping lead the squad to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in 2014 and the Region IV title match the last two years. Bristow once again will lend a hand to a program she helped elevate to prominence during the 2008 and 2009 seasons. Coach Bristow brings a competitive fire, toughness and overall knowledge of the game to Waubonsee’s sidelines.                      

Bristow graduated from Geneva High School in 2007. The next two seasons she was an integral part of Waubonsee’s program, helping lead the squad to 29 wins during that time. As a freshman defender Bristow earned All-Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) First Team and All-Region Second Team honors. Waubonsee won both the ISCC and Region IV titles for the first time in school history that season, eclipsing 13 team records en route to compiling a 16-game winning streak. Bristow served as team captain her second year, earning All-ISCC First Team and All-Region First Team status as a midfielder.   

Coach Bristow then transferred to Northern Illinois University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Health Science with an emphasis in Pre-physical Therapy. Bristow worked an internship at the prestigious IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, working with prep, collegiate and professional athletes. She is a certified Personal Trainer through the National Exercise and Sports Training Association. She currently is a Performance Trainer at the esteemed East Bank Club in downtown Chicago. Away from the soccer pitch Bristow runs marathons and plays rugby. She is currently on the United States National Women’s Rugby Team’s player pool.
